HEALTH AND QUALITY GO BEYOND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
At Mercier, our fundamental principle has always been to provide plants with the highest possible level of sanitary quality. The many and varied problems that we are currently facing prove to us that we have adopted the right strategy.

PLANT SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND
TESTING TO ERADICATE
VIRUSES AND PHYTOPLASMS
To guarantee healthy plants free of viruses and phytoplasms, we rely on self-sufficiency in terms of plant supplies, and the expertise of the Novatech laboratory for health diagnostics. Our engineers and technicians routinely test all the scions and rootstocks used in our production facilities. They are also working on tackling new sanitary problems such as Xylella Fastidiosa and Red Blotch. To respond to regulatory requirements in certain winegrowing regions, we are fully competent in Hot Water Treatment (HWT), in addition to our self-sufficiency in terms of supplies and our systematic health diagnostics.
EXCLUSIVE INNOVATIONS TO FIGHT AGAINST GRAPEVINE TRUNK DISEASES
Although several other factors play a part, the quality of the vine is an essential element in the fight against grapevine trunk diseases. Our objective, as a vine nursery, is to offer you the healthiest and most disease-resistant plants possible. Our strategy is to disinfect and strengthen the plant’s natural defences.
The CleanPROCESS® procedure is designed to eliminate the pathogens linked to grapevine trunk diseases. We start by removing any infected plant material from our own in-house supply. Then we routinely use neutral anolyte to disinfect the wood, our tools and facilities throughout the production process. Neutral anolyte is a very powerful natural disinfectant against both bacteria and fungi. An international patent request for this exclusive Mercier process has been submitted (WO2013/01105311). Find all these advantages in the Altis range.
Strengthening the plants’ natural defences against grapevine trunk diseases is achieved by inoculating the scion, the rootstock and the grafting point using the very specific trichoderma atroviride I-1237 strain. This biofungicide fights pathogens by antagonism, antibiosis, competition and parasitism. *Tri-Wall®, from the Agrauxine Company, is the first biofungicide approved for use in the fight against grapevine trunk diseases (MA no.2210388) and is perfectly compatible with the requirements and principles of organic agriculture. Find all these advantages in the Altis range.
For your plantings, the Altis® ranges is the best basis for an effective battle against grapevine trunk diseases. It is nevertheless essential to carry out, from the very beginning, pruning that respects the flow of sap, and to continue the systematic application of the trichoderma I-1237 strain throughout the plants’ life cycle.

A RELIABLE TRACING SYSTEM
TO GUARANTEE QUALITY
To ensure the quality of your plants, we use a reliable and effective tracing system which keeps track of origins and all stages of production. The system uses a unique barcode for each batch.
